That photo is from the engine bay passenger side near the firewall.
Just look for the blower fan and that will put you in the right place.

I've also had this problem with the AC. I put it on the lowest setting (not auto) and it blows high, and then back down. Did know this could be the issue. Real interested in seeing how to get to this part to change it out and its location.

Pop the hood and stand at the passenger side front tire. Look at the HVAC box on the firewall about half way down.

. Here's an instructional video on replacing a manual HVAC box resistor. They can corrode causing it to overheat and be a bear to get apart as you'll see in the video.
