I've been reading about the digital climate control unit and how it goes blank sometimes. Mine does this too, some. However my a/c will quite randomly too. I just shut it off and turn it back on and it comes back on. Additionally, it will go off with the high idle mod. Pressures are good and it works great otherwise. Any thoughts?
Check to the plug on the backside of the display to make sure it's all the way in. That would explain the display going blank from time to time. You could also check your heat sink resistor for the HVAC fan. You can get to it from the engine compartment side of the blower motor housing. Sounds like it may not be cooling completely and the automatic climate control is cutting out to protect it's self. Does the fan work at all fan speeds? Or only at the full/high speed setting?
thanks for the replies. The fan is never an issue. Its the compressor that is stopping. The air goes musty with no real indicator as to whats going on.

I realize that, but you might check it anyway. Some makes/models if the blower motor resistor isn't working right it cut the a/c compressor out....like the old 351 used to do when you went to WOT.
