No response from Data link Port

No response from Data link Port
So I finally got the truck(2003 F250 SD) running after a long diagnosis for a weak fuel pump. Went out this am to start it and I find I have no response from the diagnostic port and the left signal is constantly on. I'm unsure as to how the could possibly be related. Ive checked my scanner (SG2) on another vehicle and it is working. Not sure where to even start. 
PS Had a earlier post where I had a warning buzzer going off and staying on but I believe that was the signal flasher attempting to close, and cycling constantly.
But the data port worked.

The multifunction switch has been a sore spot for many people.
Take a look behind the OBD2 port connector and see how the wires look.
Also take a close look at the pins. It could be one is tired.
Also sometimes the SG2 can be really slow to wake up. Try waking it
with the power button if it happens again.
