So about a month ago my turn signals quit working, thought it was the switch pack so I replaced that. No fix. So I put the old one back in and wow, they worked again. Well they worked until this week. SOOO I put the new switch back in and as I suspected it didn't fix the problem.
SO I thought might as well check the fuse and the blinker control. I can't locate either. I thought the owners manual would have the fuse layout but if it does it's lost to me.
Haynes says the blinker control is on the right side of the steering column, under the steering cluster but I can't see it. Can anyone lead me in the right direction of the fuse and blinker?
Check the wires in the connector at the back of the switch. The connector has little plastic locking lugs that are prone to breaking out and allowing the wires to back out of the connector just far enough not to engage the terminals on the switch. Sometime you can verify this by simply tilting the wheel up and testing the turn signals if the wires havent backed out very far.
I've had the dog gone thing out about three times, everything seems to be pushed all of the way in and the connector stays are in the right place.
I looked in the Haynes book and it said that the switch should have continuity across pin 4 and 5 and 4 and 6, so I thought that pin 4 was probably the power lead. I turned the ignition to "on" and tested pin 4 on the connector but it didn't have any power there. I wish I could find my multi meter, I'd check the old switch to see if it was bad.
Here is page one of the EVTM schematic for the primary circuits. Ill see if I can dig up location for the electronic flasher.
Edit it says in the blower flasher relay block, which if I am not mistaken is on the right hand side of the driver footwell area under the dash. Black box about 4 inches by 2.5 inches. Flasher relay should be blue in color.

Homer,
Thanks so much for your help. The problem turned out to be a loose fuse. It looks just fine but it doesn't fit snug in the socket. Somehow the socket must have gotten loose. I put a small spacer in the socket with the fuse to hold it tight.
Have a great weekend!
Jack
Glad you found it Jack.. Sometimes we find that when someone at some time was probing the fuse box with a test lamp for a spot to connect an accessory.
