Alignment specs?
Hopefully suspension work will be done today???....or as late as tomorrow. Replacing rear springs. Upper/lower ball joints. Inner/outer tie rods and drag link.
Before heading to the alignment shop. I wanted to know if there is a certain alignment spec that works best for our trucks? My truck sig is below. Stock suspension and tire size. No lift and will be installing Bilstein 4600's when they come in.
I was going to have the dealer do it knowing they should have the latest specs if there has been any changes since the introduction of the 05 and up trucks.
Thx for any advice given.
Do you know if there's a discussion of these anywhere?
Looking through the ride height section, I'm fairly certain that mine never rode as high as the specs state, even when new, on the front; It certainly does not ride that high now, especially with the Ranch Hand on the front. That might explain some of the poor ride quality. Does the manual state whether or not the ride height is for all trucks, or gas, or diesel?
Edit: Verified. Almost exactly 4 inches of rear ride height; 1.75 inches on the front. In front, measured from the axle to the jounce pad. In rear, measured from the arm on the lift block to the jounce pad.
I'm also fairly certain that I saw, just yesterday, a new dicussion on wheel caster settings that are significantly higher than what's listed....

This is the thread I was thinking of. It's discussing a leaf-spring-front Excursion, but the principles are all the same.
Also noted elsewhere that people are seeing much better stability with 5-7 degrees of caster, not the 2.5-3 that the factory is recommending.
