Here's what I did on my 2017 SD. I'm a JD salesman and travel in rural areas with poor cell coverage. It took at bit but finally made up a system that works well. I can go from 2 bars up to full coverage with this setup. It was a challenge getting an antenna that worked well. I tried a small magnet by the rear brake light but the aluminum truck seemed to have ground plane issues. I finally tried a semi truck antenna that does not require a ground plane and this worked well.
I ran the antenna lead thru the rear sliding window, put the booster box in the center console, used the 12v plug in the console to power it and ran the inside antenna right by my cup holders.
Attached are pictures of the setup.
Looks good.. I mounted a cb antenna in that same spot years ago and the first time I went off camber it put a dent in my cab. Hopefully you wont have that problem especially since we have a more ridged frame...

I was thinking about that. I have to keep it ahead so 5th wheel trailer doesn't hit it otherwise I would of put it on back of toolbox. I may move the toolbox back an extra 1/2 for good measure.
Thanks
How much do you suppose that the new antenna increase the range of the cell phone? The ad claims up to 60% range increase. 50 dB Gain is a bit exaggeration I would bet. $800 bucks is a bit expensive but if you need it you need it right?

Looks like $799 Canadian, $499 US dollars. Still pricey, but better...

I don't know that I can give you a mile range but today I was traveling in an area where I usually have no coverage and was very happy that I good coverage all day. Am very pleased.
Yes as the other poster pointed out it, the link was CDN $. I didn't pay that match, was able to get a better price at local cell phone shop.
