So guys I have a 89 f250 with 7.3 idi I wanna clean the injectors but don't wanna take them out what's a good injector cleaner out there I heard a lot of people talking about BG244 that it works wonders and that's what the dealers use one there diesel trucks what do y'all think
I always used diesel klean or atf, it it doesn't make a difference you either didn't need it or a cleaner is not going to fix your problem.
For a more deep clean you can remove the fuel filter, pour out the diesel and refill with desired cleaner, start and let run for around 30 seconds and shutoff so the ip is full of the stuff and let it sit over night.
i do the fuel filter full of ATF once a year.
and every 3-4 months i will also pour a quart of ATF in the fuel tank.
injectors are only good for at most 150,000 miles though before they must be rebuilt/replaced.
I had good immediate results with Diesel Purge in both mt VW TDI and 7.3L IDI.
Significantly reduced smoke at idle.
I followed different easier directions.
Just filled the fuel filter with a 500ml (?) can, bled the air, started it for 30 seconds, then stopped and let it sit overnight. This allows the solvents to be 50%+ and gives them plenty of time to work.
Or you could just run the tank down to the last gallon and do the same.
