Man I run a fuel additive/injector cleaner about every other tank. I use Diesel Aid I get it at a big truck stop near here. Its a bout 2.00 for 16oz it is a non alcoholic biocide that increases lubricity and cleans the injectors. Like I said I run it about every other tank, I just had my first injector replaced at 220k miles and about 120k of that was pulling a 8k TT or a 11.5K 5er.
to answer your original ? yes, Sea Foam is a additive cleaner, you can get it at Auto Zone or Advanced, and Orielley. Some other good makes are, Deisel Kleen, Lucas Oil injector Kleener, and Power Service.
I believe most folks here use diesel kleen with each tank of fuel. Aside from the numerous other benefits, it is an injector cleaner. I don't believe there is a need to use anything else if DK is used regularly.
Marvel Mystery Oil has worked so well with my truck. My mileage has been the best with this stuff. 16oz per 40 gallons. I really suggest you try it, it cleans injectors plus it cleans and lubricates the fuel system.
