I wouldn't think that would cause it. If they are that worn, then you have some real problems. Could be a lifter going bad, oil pressure problems, bent pushrods, worn rocker arm pivots, etc..
The cam could be worn on the lobes and not lifting enough.
I have also heard exhaust leaks that sound like a lifter tick.
I went back and read the other thread, first thing is it would be virtually imposible for a wrist pin to come out with out totaly destroying a cylinder. cant happen, and would have destroyed a rod as well. these people are jerkin your string big time, i would call the warenty people and tell them you want a new shop athorized by them and you want it fixed NOW! tell them it wasnt doing this before it went to the shop, and if they refuse you'll be glade to take them to court, id also send this in letter form via certified mail so they have to sigh for it. if you get know responce, then file suite in small claims court, they will have to apear and when they loose they will have to reimburse you for court cost which is only 25-45 in most counties,
file your case for damages and loss of use of the vehicle. DW
ya they later found it had nothing to do with the wrist pin. It is at a new shop now and as for loss of vehicle oo well I have a back up. I know most people would be pissed, but I’m a really easy going guy so I’m not the least bit mad just as long as they fix it. The new cam bearings are their latest idea, I figure if I just let them keep going I’ll have a new engine soon.
I understand being understanding, i dont mean to go down there and go POSTAL on them, but shops get away with this type stuff all the time because innocent people who dont know anybetter get screwed, if you dont hold them accountable for there action then the cycle continues, it'll just be another helpless person on another day. but anway. ggod luck with it.
