Parts stores/vendors are notorious for using old, obsolete terminology for replacement parts. Why? Because they stick with what the customers already know....
The Motorcraft part number for the EGR system module, which includes the MAP sensor, the DPFE sensor, and the EGR valve is CX-2102 if you want to stay OEM. The SMP EVG1055 is an aftermarket replacement.
ok .... while getting ready to go to store for part i was looking for the valve as i had no idea where it was .... i found it ... BUT here is the issue/question .....
there is 3 wires/hoses connected to it
now on the valve itself is a red and black hose pushed into a " L " shaped thing then it connects to the valve
well the red wire is fine
the black was NOT in the " L" shaped thing so i tried to slide it in and it just fell apart in my hand ( kinda like dry rot )
so i assume that whole wire connection is the prob not the valve
but what is that wire set called ?
also
as i disconnected it and followed it to se where it went ., found where it went ... but with both ends disconnected it will not slide out from under the thing it is sitting on
i took a couple pics but no idea how to put them in this post ( if u can )
