I have a question about my drivers door hinges.... The bushings fell out on the upper hinge.. so I went to the parts store and go some Help! Pins and bushing repair kit.. installed the kit, so for about 2 months everything was great, then one day those bushings feel apart, so I went back to the store, figuring I screwed up and maybe got rough installing the newer bushings, and re installed (very gentle like) the new kit.. 2 to 3 months later, same old crap. I decided to go online and buy a complete new hinge, granted my oem, but installed that... lasted about 2 to 3 months again... the lower hinge is newer from PO... all the lines line up, the door closes nicely when that hinge was in those 3 times.. any ideas???!!
Don't see your location but once rust or dirt piles up in the door it gets heavy enough to start eating the bushings, have you checked for any debris in the door? Also you don't happen to have kids/grand kids? I caught my oldest swinging from the rear door a couple of times.
I do have a 2 year old, but he doesnt do that type if things.. I installed about 1 year ago sone nice door speakers, they came out of my 1990 f250, but when i did that I vacuumed the door out and clean the heal out of it.. now the truck is a cclb..wonder if that puts more stress on it?! Passenger side is fine
I would replace both upper and lower bushings, are they tight when installed? If not vote hinge where the bushings rides is worn out, lube them with some silicon grease to keep them happy as well.
