OT--Third brake light possibility

One of the guys on the Studebaker forum posted this it may be a good way to add a 3rd tail light to your trucks.

Can be seen on this from: http://www.brakeflasher.com/brake.htm
It works with 6 or 12 volts and positive or negative ground. What is really nice is that it can be adjusted to flash, then go steady. It suction cups to the rear window and has a quick connect plug so is easily removed for shows. Very bright and the flashing feature really grabs your attention. It is a bit pricey at $68 but the added safety factor is well worth it. Very simple hook up - one wire to the brake switch and the other to ground

I've been thinking about adding a third brake light so curious what this one looked like.

Vern is it 6 volt as well as 12? either positive or neg ground? $12 bucks is a lot better than $68 that's for sure.

Several years ago I was on the hunt for a third brake light. The LED lights that were 6 volt negative ground were too expensive, so I made my own out of an old turnsignal. It is held in place by a suction cup I got from one of those Christmas candles you put in your windows. I really haven't used it as I felt reluctant to splice into my brake light. The pic of it lit is with the power coming directly from the battery. For a ground I used a short wire to a screw on the back wall of the cab. So you can see I used bullet connectors for ease of removal.

The one I used is 12V negative ground. I've seen some 6V versions but they are more expensive. Here is one like I used...

That's not a bad price but it looks like you have to screw the base into something.

I bought two LED round chrome base lights that insert into the rear of the bed rails and can be tied into the other tail lights. Sorry no pictures.

I wanted something Old-School and intended to mount a Shoebox Taillght until I discovered they weren't symmetrical. After more fruitless searching I thought, maybe a matching 3rd Brake Light?

Once mounted, I thought it was a bit weird but I've come to like it. Unlike my Taillights, it's an LED unit.
