I am installing a shifter boot that will cover the carpet edges and help make the interior look finished. The shift lever is stock, so a tall boot was in order.
Now I am thinking I would like to do the same, for the same reasons, at the pedals.
I'm thinking something like these cheapies might just fill the bill. Opions and suggestions, please.
I don't see an issue provided that they don't impede the pedal travel. Since the boots are intended for shifter duty, their durability under compression isn't assured.

The pedal travel was my only issue. But, you make a good point.
I agree with Dave. The part that you suggest might seem strange when used in tandem. I have the same concern with my truck but I have an original accelerator pedal boot that I plan to use. It is much smaller. (See part #2 "Seal-Pedal rod to floor" in the attached LMC drawing)
Or why not use the original seal plate assembly? I have all the metal parts (part #18) if you need them.
Thanks Pete. I have the seal plate. But the carpet covers it. I hadn't thought of using it over the carpet. But, having it copied in stainless may be an avenue. As a last resort, I may just stitch up the edges on the carpet.
My goal was to add a touch of chrome, that matched my new shifter boot.
I am now looking at having a piece of sheet stainless stamped, to encompass both pedals, and having a dual boot made of leather or vinyl. But, it's looking like the cost may far exceed the boundaries of a, "nice to have" item.
How about stainless trim from Streetrodhq.com?
Hope this helps
Dan
That is probably just what I have been looking for. I'll have to take some measurements, to see just what size hole I actually need, (shaft size, arc, etc), but they look good. Thanks
