It seems to me that this conversion gets.."overthought". If you look at garys garagemahal pictures..you will see my '84 with the low back..'86 Bronco.. seats. I used the Bronco track for the driver..and left the tilt track for the passenger. 2 of the track holes fit the stock holes..and I drilled 2 new ones..and used Corvette lug spacers ..for a level installation. 2 inch fender washers on the bottom..and it's done.I doubt that I am going to worry about a collision that would tear the washers and bolts through the floor. If you have parts in hand..It's an hour job..with 10 minutes out for an adult beverage !!!!!!!!!!!
The reason I ask is I have found some seat pans at junkyards near friends across the country, and don't want to ship a whole seat. But shipping a seat pan, and getting seats/center jump seat out of a local ex-cab around here would be way easier. So if I get the seat pan with the sliders on it, I can bolt in a center console seat and passenger/driver seat from an extended cab?
Once again...OVERTHOUGHT. I have been driving my '84 with my installation for 3-4 years. Have never tightened a bolt on the seat frames. I have YET to see a seat torn out of a floorpan from fatigue. The floorpan will raise the seats enough to partially block the rear window...
With those seats and a floorpan..you will block a lot of rear window. Look for the post by Garysgaragemahal .... that shows his seats ..high back and pan..and my seats ..low back..no pan...
You need a seat pan from a 94-97 regular cab or crewcab 40/20/40 for a regular cab or crew cab
Supercab are the only ones that will bolt into a supercab and also will Not bolt into a regular cab or crewcab
I can get these seats cheap. They were in a 1996 Supercab. They are being sold as is. In the photo below, you can see no seat pan. Can these be "adapted" to a 1986 regular cab?
