I know this has appeared on the forum before, but I'd like to get some info about the pan on the 40/20/40 seat. Does anyone know the part number of the pan? And what truck should I look to get one out of. Please no YELLING!!!

Did this fit a single cab without drilling? I was under the impression that the 40/20/40 seat pan had to come from a single cab or crew cab to fit a bullnose single or crew cab but I might have made that up in my head. Just trying to expand the knowledge.

I thought in one of Gary's links it said that bullnose Supercab bench seat tracks were different from regular and crew cab bench seat tracks... so my assumption was that Supercab bench seats shared the same mounts as the captain chairs. This is evidently not true, as my friend just switched out the stock bench seat in his 1986 Supercab for a pair of 1986 captain chairs and he had to drill new holes. The seat tracks fit the pan but the holes did not line up. Hence the question of whether the 40/20/40 Supercab pan fits without drilling...

I'm pretty sure Bronco's and CrewCabs had one floor and regular and Supercabs had another.

DieselBrad and Gary Lewis both have detailed posts about this.

Regular cab and crew cab are one type, Supercab and Bronco are the other type.

Good mnemonic for this - which configurations have a back seat, but not a back door?

Bench seat is a bench seat. The tracks may bolt differently to the floor though. Bucket seats are another animal and can cause many headaches.
I ran a 60/40 split bench from a superman in my 79 single cab. I swapped the 79 bench seat tracks to the 95 superman bench and bolted it right into the 79.
I later took it out of the 79 and put my 83 seat tracks onto the 95 bench seat and it was a direct bolt to my 83 single cab.
I have done the same with crewman bench seats and used them in many other ford trucks. All direct bolt in.

You need a seat pan from a 94-97 regular cab or crewcab 40/20/40 for a regular cab or crew cab

Supercab are the only ones that will bolt into a supercab and also will Not bolt into a regular cab or crewcab

Slight thread necro. If you have a 40/20/40 pan from a crew cab or regular cab. Can you unbolt the brackets from the supercab seats and bolt them to the 40/20/40 pan? I found a bare pan for pretty cheap, and wondered what I could buy to put on it.

The Pan will bolt to a Bullnose floor just like the original bench seat did. It is always good to get the seat tracks

and attaching hardware for them. I put Bronco bucket seats and the console in my 1981 F100 by using the pan

The absolutely only modification to mount them was to tap one of the three additional holes on the underside of

the bucket seats to mount them very securely to the pan tracks. My buckets came out of a 1994 Bronco and the

color matched my interior very closely. They fit the truck like they came from the factory with them.

It seems to me that this conversion gets.."overthought". If you look at garys garagemahal pictures..you will see my '84 with the low back..'86 Bronco.. seats. I used the Bronco track for the driver..and left the tilt track for the passenger. 2 of the track holes fit the stock holes..and I drilled 2 new ones..and used Corvette lug spacers ..for a level installation. 2 inch fender washers on the bottom..and it's done.I doubt that I am going to worry about a collision that would tear the washers and bolts through the floor. If you have parts in hand..It's an hour job..with 10 minutes out for an adult beverage !!!!!!!!!!!
