Retrax Question
So the truck is ordered, and I am not in toys mode. I really like the concept of the Retrax type retractable cover, but my concern is winter. Has anyone had one on any truck and had to deal with snow/ice? The truck will be spending a significant portion of it's life outside and I am concerned about what happens if it gets covered with snow/ice. I don't really want a cover that I can't open for weeks at a time.
I am also looking at diamondback, but am concerned about spontaneous hauling and not being able to take it off.
Any other recommendations?

Every cover is affected somewhat by snow and ice. But yes, I've used them and after you brush or broom the snow off if you smack it with your hand a couple of times it breaks up much of the accumulated ice. They are made in North Dakota, they know a few things about winter!
