I have a 2008 Explorer V8 build date Feb 2008. Don't know the engine build date...I'm going in circles trying to figure a plug change. Latest I have read is after nov 2007 there should be no problem, new head design and plug design, so I should not have problem? I looked on the forum for advise and couldn't find it. I have run Techron through it twice, 1oz per gallon, or a little richer, thinking to do it again. And use top tier gas. Will the breaking plug thing be a possibility? Does the build date of truck usually come anywhere near build date of engine?

Just found out from ford it takes a SP 509 plug, so thinking should be no problem...anybody know anything about changing this plug?
https://repairpal.com/spark-plugs-ma...-to-remove-293. A new article out from ford says change them with a cold engine. I use Techron additive to clean the carbon out of the engine. Also from looking up engine build date it looks like I have the up dated heads and plugs.
