Started the truck up tonight, got 5 seconds of radio and then it said Sirus update 0%. Status bar hasn't moved off 0% and it won't let me switch to am fm or CD. Phone won't come though speakers either. Let it sit for 1/2 hour with the key on, still 0%. Called Sirius, they deactivated, reactivated it but still no sound and locked.
Anybody has this before? I had been having Sirius reception and backup camera issues. Does the Sirius antenna wire go through the connector on the park brake pedal? If it doesn't work by morning it's going to Ford. Silence sucks!
Had it happen to my truck one time pull the fuse for the radio then put it back in should reset it. They are little computers now and freeze up like computers.
Often, Sirius sends an update to your radio. It may take a few minutes to complete. Be patient and let it finish. If you interrupt it, it will start again later and you will have the same silence and status shown till it finishes.
You problem might be the Sirius module? I would have Ford check it.
Tried the master reset first. No luck. Drove to dealer and made appointment to have it looked at, needs state inspection anyway. Couldn't see how pulling the fuse would help if a master reset didn't. But I tried it anyway, and I'll be damned it worked! Happy to have the radio back! Thank you 7.3 Powerstroker!

Speaking as someone who has been an electronics technician long enough to watch solid state take the place of tubes, the is NO reset as MASTER as power cycling - also known as "pulling the fuse."
For what its worth, the dealer just called and there is a TSB on this. He said it's very limited on info but does say to replace the radio. I guess this will mean the ESP I bought has already paid for itself. $50 deductible and I'll have it back tomorrow!
Thanks for the fuse tip. That worked for me with my 2013 Ford Sync system. It also fixed a lingering problem where I couldn't use the paddle controls to navigate FM radio stations. I guess pulling out the fuse is the equivalent of a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to reset those systems -- the "restore to factory settings" option did nothing but delete my saved data.
