Really though, I hate to see valuable forum members with good re pore, and who've known each other for many years longer than I've been here, go after each other. I hope you guys feel better about this in short order.
Reviving old thread. Just finished my stand. It ain't pretty but it works. Haven't welded in years and planning on replacing the post on the second stand to one piece with 2 welds instead of 4 lol. Also add a couple bolt on extensions with wheels on the short side for more stability.
Didn't want to modify or cut up the hand crank stand so I made everything bolt on.
got a 1000lb hand crank stand for $200 (retail like $400 or something)
another 1000lb stand for $40
Metal for $130
Can provide more detail if interested.
thanks for the abundance of info. Got inspired by the first post.
Are the lifting tools for 6.0 and 6.4 not the same?
honestly don't know. Only ever dealt with 6.4 so thats the stuff i purchased. Never ended up using the special tool because i didnt have the right engine hoist to fit.
i know the little tabs/brackets that come with the tool dont fit a 6.4 and you have to use the separate L shape brackets you buy.
Blessed Performance is selling the bracket to hold the 6.0 by the side, I just bought it. Sadly, although I have a heavy duty engine stand the shaft insert on their bracket is too large in diameter and will not fit my engine stand. I might have to return it.
