In my first post I recommended finding a builder experienced in your particular engine. Now I'm thinking you may benefit in backing up a step and reading up on the history of your engine as well as current options with your engine. That will help you decide how much effort (and money) you want to invest. I'm into FE engines, but I think the Clevelands are cool too with lots of potential for fun builds.

Then perhaps lurk on that site I mentioned in post 7. Those threads will give you a ton of insight. For example, you may want to put in a stroker kit now with a mild hydraulic roller cam and stock heads with a plan of warming it up as you gain familiarity with the Cleveland.

IMO, a little research will greatly increase your enjoyment as well as save you money. It's hard for anyone to tell you how you should build it when we don't know your budget, your skill level, your available spare time, etc. We can tell you some general tips but that's about it.

You might want to wait until you actually take possession of your engine, confirm what it is, find that Ford specialist machine shop/engine builder that '65 Ford is talking about and have him check the block for cracks, overbore conditions, bad crank, bad heads, etc. I got a cheap 390 from a guy, took it to a Ford engine builder and found the reason it was so cheap - it had already been bored to the max, but the bores were screwed - they would have needed to be sleeved. I had to get another block. Be sure you know what you have before you make your plans.

I gotta agree with 65Ford an SupeSabre. You need to read up on all these engines before you get to involved. I suggest you get a copy of this book. It has a lot of good info on all of these old Ford engines. Ford Performance Includes All Modern Ford Performance Engines By Pat Ganahl 1988 | eBay

Crop Duster, Isn't that one of the books from the Bible?
I LOVE that book, and started with it when I was 18 or so. It was new then...

It is a very good book for pushrod engines. It has helped me mine some real treasures out of junk yards. I forgot to mention to ccc65. If he gets one it needs to not be the first printing or it won't have Clevelands in it because Ford hadn't build any yet.
