It happened to me. #4 spark plug blew out. Not completely but cop holding it in. Are there any new , inexpensive ways to repair?
You get what you pay for.
If I had start back at the beginning and do all over again, I would still buy the Time-Sert 5553 kit again.
I have loaned it to friends that used it for their own vehicles and one guy even used it to fix a power washer with a Honda engine that just happened to have the same size spark plug.
I just bought another 10 inserts so I am ready for the next round.
Don't drive your truck or run the engine unless you unplug the fuel injector on that cylinder to minimize risk of fire.
I guess the cheapest thing I have seen is a rubber stopper similar to a boat bilge plug that is used to plug the hole until the vehicle is driven somewhere to be fixed correctly. At least it won't sound like a steam engine.
Thought so. Looked at the plug and there's no aluminum thread material on it. I'm going to get a bore scope to look in that cylinder for debris and start the process. Thanks for your reply!
Ended up buying the time-sert kit 5553 and finished repair. I've driven about 120 miles with no problem. The only thing I would have done differently is add the fully threaded time-sert and adapter. Seems ideal but didn't stumble on these until after the repair.
