Yeah it doesn't seem right to me either. I was going to go ahead and buy me a new rear gear so when I pull it down I want have it torn down so long, waiting to get the rear gear.The transmission is a C6 automatic and the rear tires 29" inches tall. I was looking for some suggestions on what would be the best rear gear for me to buy that would not turn no more than 2500 rpm at 65 to 70 mph.

I'd say what you already have isn't very far off from what you want. Also the C6 will run a little higher rpm than a stickshift due to the torque convertor. As much as 200 rpm.
