Dashboard Issue

I just had my truck a the shop a couple weeks ago. The coil line for cylinder 5 went bad and caused my truck to run bad and have a flashing check engine light, all while towing my camper. Luckily I was still close to home and was able to use a friends truck to get my camper where it need to go. It's never fun to watch you truck leave on a wrecker. Anyway, while they had it, I went ahead an had them change all the plugs and wires. While they had it they also flashed the PCM to the latest update. This weekend when I was towing my camper I noticed that trailer that it said was connected was not the "camper" trailer that I created, it was on Default Trailer. This was no big deal, I figured out how to change the default trailer after I got home.

Now the issue that I have is I think the truck thinks it is still connected to a trailer. When I turn the truck on, the menu in the dash defaults to the Trailer screen, the towing mileage is still going up, and I see the trailer brake lights go up. The weird thing is that when I go into the system check, then to the brake controller area, it indicates that there is no trailer. I am not sure if this has to do with the PCM update or if something else is going on. I plan on plugging my truck back into the camper tonight, then unplugging it and see if that clears things up. Has anyone else had anything similar happen to their truck?

I currently have 56,000 miles on my truck and its starting to nickle and dime me and I am not liking it. fortunately I have an extended warranty with a 100 deductible. With 100 to fix the coil wire, 550 for the rest of the tune up and 100 for the turbo oil leak a few months ago, I am starting to get a bit frustrated.

Thanks,

I figured it out. I must have set the active trailer when my camper was not plugged into the truck. I went back in and change it to "no active trailer" and that seemed to solve my problem. I guess you can set an active trailer if you are towing something that does register with the truck.
