Trailer tow issue

Hopefully I can explain this properly, I connected a tandem axle trailer to my f350 but it wasn't saying it was connected, via the display under towing on my dashboard. After I disconnected the trailer the display now come up showing the towing section not the digital spedo which I had previously selected as the default. Plus now, even though I have no trailer connected it is showing mileage increases under the towing section. The dealer told me to check the fuses. I see none that are visibly tripped but they are a bear to remove so I guess I am asking what fuse could be the problem so I don't have to remove all of them. If not fuses.any other suggestions? Thanks

Not an expert at this but my question would be did you turn truck off to connect and then have truck running when you disconnected? From what I've read and witnessed first-hand the way it works correctly is: 1. If trucks running when you connect the trailer, when you climb back in the seat it will ask if you want to set up the trailer so the truck remembers it (brakes, gain, etc). 2. If truck is not running when you connect then it has no idea it's there until you disconnect it with the engine running which will also make it think that now every time you start the truck that it has a trailer connected. It needs to be powered when connected and disconnected to know it's there and it's gone essentially. If your start-up screen automatically goes to the towing screen you need to let the truck know that "No trailer is connected", and it will revert back to your original screen. I however do not think you have any burnt fuses as your dealership suggests.

When trailer is connected it will always go to trailer screen at start up. After disconnecting trailer you have to going into trailer tow menu and select no active trailer to stop logging miles. When done towing just shut your truck off on whatever screen you want to come up on next restart.

I had 2 trailer names programmed into the truck, mostly to keep track of mileage on a new set of tires on one trailer. I found that I was always forgetting to switch to the correct trailer. Or, like the OP I was finding the trailer screen staring at me when I restarted the truck and there was no trailer hooked up. So I'd have to manually go in and select "no active trailer" as you state.
This all became a pain. I got sick of manually going and and selecting the "no trailer" option all the time so I just deleted the differently named trailers. Now when I pull my business trailer I can unhook it at the end of the day and restart the truck with my default digital speedo scree.

Fixed it!

I didn't realize there was a no active trailer setting. I clicked on that, problem solved. Thanks for your help!

If you connect and disconnect the trailer while the truck is on it detects the trailer and “connects” or “disconnects” automatically. You only have to manually select no active trailer if you disconnect while the truck is off.

you will still need to select no active trailer if you don’t want to log miles.
