Thanks Dave...
I went to check them out by ohming them. From what I read they should be between 750 and 1500... I get nothing on the front ones (odd that they would both be failed).. So I check the left rear which had been getting a bath in gear oil since the axle seal had been bad (Jake had it replaced). I got nothing there either. I decided to pull the sensor to get a good look at it. Of course it was frozen into the cast iron bracket and broke (yes, I was being nice to it too - lots of PB Blaster - not prying like a gorilla etc. So I decide to pull the wheels and get a better look. Whoever put the wheels on that car wanted to hurt the poor guy that needed to change them next. It took my 3/4 drive CP Impact wrench with a full head of pressure at the compressor to get the lug nuts loose. Then to make things REALLY interesting - All 4 alloy wheels are frozen to the hubs. It took a lot of convincing with large pry bar and 5# dead-blow..
Back to the left rear.
I get the caliper off and its bracket. The rotor was a couple hammer blows to shock it loose (normal).
Rotor off now and I'm looking at the worn our brake shoes from the parking brake and a bunch of shrapnel around the inside end of the sensor (which I apparently never budged).
So I will be ordering that sensor at the very least - along with new shoes and hardware for the parking brake ... Oh and a new pinion seal - I hate leaks...
I'd like to know what you think about those front sensors not ohming out at all. All of them ohm as open circuits - even on my good Fluke autoranging meter.
Morning everyone. Randy, ohm them out while spinning the wheel, see if that changes anything.
Will try that after church today... I know that when you spin the wheel it is supposed to generate a small amount of AC current too.. I'll retract the brake pads and give them a spin.
A lot of you already know from the FB group page.
I got my left hand in the table saw yesterday afternoon. Went to the local hospital and the transferred my to Regions. Went in to surgery around 11 last night to repair(attempt to repair) the tendons that were cut and suture the major laceration running the length off my index finger. 7 to 10 days then back to have it checked out.
