Fuel filter change interval
Can someone tell me why the fuel filters are changed at 30000 miles under normal operating conditions but under severe conditions they must be changed every 6 months regardless of mileage. I don't put on anywhere near 30000 miles in a year let alone 6 months and it would seem a real waste to replace the filters with so few miles on them.

Severe Conditions (IE Heavy towing) will use more fuel, thus your filter will have filtered more fuel and will need to be changed more frequently. For the average user that doesn't tow everyday the Normal Operating conditions maintenance schedule should work.
