Ok so my dash indicator disappeared. Did some searching and found out I can bring it back with the "+/-" on the shifter. Now my question is if certain gears are not indicated on the dash does that mean they are supposedly all locked out somehow even though I shift through all 6 still? And with the gears not being indicated on the dash is there a negative effect over a period of time driving?... or did I just get super paranoid over it
If the 1 thru 6 is hidden, then all you've done is hide them on the display and the truck will still operate normally as if they were shown.
However once shown, if you use the "-" to remove 6, then 5, then 4 and so on then you've effectively "locked out" those top gears and the truck won't shift into them until you bring each one back in succession, 4 then 5 then 6.

What, I didn't know u could lock out certain gears....
That will help w/all the damn down shifting while pulling the TT

Not necessarily "certain", meaning you cannot lock out third so that the truck would shift from 2 to 4, but you can lock out the top gears in succession.
I know what YOU meant, just felt the need to clarify for those others out there
It was quite nice coming through the mountains of WVA with 4 people on board and a bed FULL of stuff to be able to run in 3rd or 4th on command and not worry about it upshifting until I brought that gear back.
