Just bought a 94 Bronco. I am very happy with it, but the rear window moves slow. It is slower going down than up. It still moves, but just slow.
What is the problem/fix????????
Also, if I need a new window motor, where is the best/cheapest place????
befor i asume its the motor i would take the interior panel off and clean and grease every thing good. then if its no better the cheapest place for a motor is the junck yard, and then you may end up with the same problem, you may want to try Broncograveyard for a new/rebuilt one. im shure someone will jump in here with some more option for you. DW
I agree with DW on cleaning the gearing especialy if its ever been off road. I have to clean mine every time I go playing. Something else you may want to try before tearing the gate apart is spraying wd40 liberaly down the window channel on each side. Sometimes my glass is just getting bound up against the channel and that always fixes it, so I try that first. Then tear her apart if that dont work. If you have the window tinted you may want to try silicone spray first I dont know if wd will mess up tint or not. Good luck.
Here just a tought,
I allways take my hard top off for the summer. Maybe the person you baught it from did the same and did not push it up against the cab the whole way. That allways makes mine go slow.
The guy I bought it from lived on a very dusty gravel road. Everything was covered in dust so a good cleaning is probably in order.
The odd thing is that the window goes up fine, but gets slow on going down.
I would guess that I should probably set aside a good amount of time to take the gate apart, correct??????????
It shouldnt take too long to to get to the gears. Pull the carpet panel off your rear gate (if your model has it) be carefull with the plugs that hold it in place they sometimes break easily. Once its off there will be an access panel with about 10 screws (phillips head) in it remove it and your in. I do this with the gate down then close it and get in back to clean everything. It may be tempting but dont run the glass out with the gate down. Also my glass has never been fast so to speak, it is heavy so dont expect a lot of improvement. But up and down speeds should be about the same when you get done.

Thanks!
Wouldn't move at all if motor was bad, probably. Binding on something. Maybe strikers have been replaced, and need adjusting to alaign window with channel. When I replaced my weather seal, I also replaced rubber end-caps, which I had to take off again and sand down some to get my window to move right. Use back key switch, or have someone else cycle window while you try to see where bind occurs. Go from there. Lubing gear is always good advice. A back window should operate smoothly without lube in rubber channel, but whatever gets ya by, I reckon.
