Hi y'all -

I'm looking at a genuine beater of an 82 F100 Flareside for occasional home improvement and hauling duty (and some fun too).

Due to previous experiences , I really want to put in a seat with headrests.

2 questions:

- What seats will fit?

- What are my cheapest and easiest options? I'm not going to be fussy about the look or condition.

Welcome to FTE!
Anything will fit with a torch and a welder. If you have some fabrication skills, use seats out of a little econobox in the junkyard. I had seats from a Civic in my Toyota pickup, I had to drill some holes and make up braces, but they worked and were very comfortable.

Thanks for the response. This looks like a busy and interesting forum.

Unfortunately I don't have access to welding equipment right now. I guess I was hoping I could just go to the junkyard, find a seat with a headrest from a newer (or fancier) truck, and bolt it right in there.

From what I understand, seats are the same till 96. Another user posted a while ago about bolting Taurus buckets to the bench rails, but I've never tried. Do a search for seats in the 80-86 forum. I think it was a few months back.

 

66mercman is right. Bench seats from 80-96 bolt right in.If your looking for some thing kinda cheap the 92-96 xl work trucks. have a straigt bench with headrest(no fold down console).The xlt seats are nice but can be pricey!
