I have an1983 F250 with a 3/4 transmission. I am in need of trouble shotting help. It has been rebuilt but the tranny still will not work.
Any useful information would be much helpful.
In order to get any useful information, you will have to post a few more details. A 3/4 transmission isn't terminology used around here. I don't think anyone knows what you're talking about.
As far as 'stuck between gears' I'm going to venture a guess and say that you have a manual transmission and it's stuck in neutral (can't get it into gear at all). How far off am I?
If you had the transmission rebuilt at a shop, how long ago was it? If it was just done, and the truck won't shift, then your problem is with the shop.
I am very sorry everyone. This is what it is all about. I have an 1983 F250 3/4 ton with a T19 manual tranny. We just had the needle bearing changed and now there is No neutral and no reverse. I acts like it is stuck in one of the forward gears. Please respond to what might be done to fix it or just what the soultion might be.

That's a good start.

That sounds just like my T19, and the problem was that it was run low on lube from the previous owner and it tore up the bearings and was/is stuck in first so bad he broke the shifter attempting to shift it.

What might be done to fix it, is to rebuild it again, as you will have to inspect EVERYTHING to verify all is ok before putting it all back to one piece so that it won't fail on you again.
I know that if I had a C6 with a worn forward piston seal area, I would not just fix that and nothing else as there might be something else waiting to go bad.
A half *** job will get you a half *** transmission.
Everyone Iam very sorry for the misinformation. Here is the correct situation. I have an 1983 F250 3/4 Ton truck. It has a manual T-19 Tranny. We replaced the needle bearings. No there is no reverse and no neutral. It seems like it is locked in one of the forward gears. If anyone has any informantion on what the problem may be or a solution on how to correct it please reply. And once again I am sorry for the miss information I had before.
Thank You archangel. everything look to be in place, well lubed, and the prblem still exist. We have a diagram showing how everything is to be put and it seem to be correct. Do you know of any certain thing we should look at?
On my NP-435, the reverse gear has no detent, so if you tilt the case with the shifter out, it can slide into gear, preventing any other gear from working. Maybe one of your shift forks isn't in the right spot, and it's holding one gear engaged when you try to use another. Try just popping the top and resetting everything.
I have a similar problem with a1983 F150, C6. Until it warms up 9 a few miles) the trans won't shift into 3rd gear. Then as it warms up, it will only shift into 3rd at about 46 to 50 mph. After a full warm up it will most often, shiftto 3rd at lower speeds. I have coped by manually shifting from 2nd to 3rd at times. I have been told this may be in the detent (cable, spring?) Any help appreciated.
