I have seen many posts about the subs going out on our stock stereo systems and thought I would show some pics on my recent install after my
stock sub amp died.
I started with front components 6.5 Focal access1 (soon to be focal k2power kf) Tweeter in the sail panel. I LOVE these speakers!
I put a Phoenix Gold Ryval 150x2 under the front passenger seat to power the fronts. Rears are running off the deck.
I then to riped out the stock subwoofer setup to make room for a
MTX 8001 monoblock amplifier powering the Polk db1212 sub box.
I then needed to cut out the jack holder to fit the amp in there.
Old amp new amp
Here it is panel on temp.
Through the jack access door the sub grill will help ventilate the amp.
I ran the speaker wire under the carpet to the sub side and I can take the
Box out any time I need the third row seat put in.
Remote bass ****. I know I need to clean my truck.
I also threw in a Eclipse cd3200 hu and it really looks great with illumination set to green. Bluetooth was a plus and usb.
I want to say I am very very happy with the results. Loud enough to make you nervous lol...
don't be stupid, throw a few screws in it as you don't want that box to be the last thing to go through your mind if you should happen to rear-end someone. Even if you are not planning on having a wreck.......
