2011 F250 Instrument panel issues

First time poster here hoping you guys can assist me before I break down and have to go to a shop. I did search but only found this on older models nothing in the 2011-2016 series of trucks.

I have a 2011 F250 v6.7 and have been very happy with it. Two days ago when my wife was driving the instrument cluster(spedometer to 0, tach to 0, display blank), radio, blinkers all died then came back During this the fan would also come on at high even if it had been turned it off. It happened several more times on her drive. Then started getting stabil track alarm and then the battery light would come on. I measured both batteries disconnected and got 12.5v on each, cleaned the terminals put them back on and got ~14.5v when running. I took it for a drive and at first it was fine but after 10-15 minutes the same things started. Truck never lost power, seemed to run okay, just no gauges, active alarms.

Im worried driving it like this may cause issues with the truck but also will be towing a 35' fifth wheel again soon and worried about loosing control with it on.

Looking for any suggestions on diagnostics I can do my self before taking it to the dealer. I had an electrical issue on an old vehicle and spend a fortune to never get it fixed, hoping to avoid that again.

I'm no mechanic, but as a guess it almost sounds like you have a loose ground wire or something like that. Just go around checking all of the connections you can see. There's supposed to be a plug down by yhe emergency brake pedal i think that has bern mentioned in various threads as coming loose and causing similar conditions.

I have tried that but haven't found anything. Expecting a bad ground as well, just not sure where to look for all the most likely ground locations.

Common problem. There is a wiring harness connector attached to the parking brake pedal bracket. The jarring action of releasing the park brake play havoc with this connector. Cure is to remove the connector from the bracket & tie wrap it up out of the way. You may have to wiggle the connector some to get it firmly seated.

The 13 I drive was doing what you described regularly, hasn't done it in 80,000 miles since I moved the connector. Do some searches for crazy dash or similar to find more threads & detailed fixes.

Dealers seem to be clueless about this problem.
