I have about 7000 miles on my 16' F350 4x4 Dually and am noticing the Ft Tires are beginning to have a bit of a Choppy ?? Uneven Wear. Do any of you cross Rotate the Front Tires Lt to Rt ? Does anything help ? Or is it just another Nature of the Beast ..
What I do is just swap everything from side to side on duallies. I did it that way on the big rigs and carried the practice over to my dually. It works ok for me, probably not the "perfect" way to do it, but..................
I do the same with rotation. Fronts will normally show some wear keep in mind that when turning there are 4 tires back there wanting to push straight ahead.
To actually rotate the tires to other positions, you have to break down the tires and change the tires between the front and rear rims.
I bought steel wheels to replace my 4 aluminum wheels so i can do standard front to rear or X rotations. The steel wheels only added 60 pounds to the total weight of the truck for all 4.

I ran the stock tires for 245k miles {55k a set} I would take the fronts and move them to inside rear. { that way it will smooth out front chop} the inside rear to outer rear and finally outer rears to front all smooth out and a nice ride again . cost about a $100.00 bucks Just installed 22.5 drop deck tires nice.
during the winter, I move my steer wheels to the rear outside and move my rear out side to the front. reasoning is the steer tires are poor snow traction tires during 4 wheel drive so swapping with rear outside gets me traction tires on the fronts. the rims are the same....just needs cleaning to remove brake dust when you flip them. power washer cleans them right up...just dont blast the rubber.
