Acceleration and Deceleration Noise
Ok, I hear a whining sound everytime I Accelerate and when I Decelerate the whine dies down and stops when I come to a stop. Its coming from underneath the truck. Does anybody know what this is, its driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know much about this stuff, but I have a 94 with an I6 and a 5 Speed tranny. I get a whining type sound, I think it might just be the transmissions or gears or something.

Could be from the rear end. Do a search on differentials/rear ends. I recall a web site that detailed how to diagnose whining sounds, between engine, tranny and rear end, but I no longer have the site address.

My rig does the same thing. I totally rebuilt the tranny, transfer case, and installed new u-joints. So the only thing left is the rear end. I am thinking that the backlash may be off and this may cause it to whine....
