Thoughts? It seems like its coming from the front pass fender area. When I accelerate it makes the sound.. Decelerating, speedbump.. similar events... thanks...
The year would help. If it's a leaf spring front end, I'd check the leaf spring eye bushings and the swaybar bushings. If it's a coil spring, then make sure the springs are set in the pockets and there is an isolator somewhere in the system and check the swaybar bushings too.
02 is leaf spring front end. So bump the body from the side and get it rocking laterally. If it doesn't creak, the spring eye bushings are probably ok. Then jump on/off the bumper and listen. If it doesn't creak vertically, then swaybar bushings are probably okay. Then it's time to rock it back and forth. If nothing works to recreate the creak, diagnostics are going to be difficult. However, a can of white lithium grease anywhere there might be metal to metal contact and a clean driving area will show you if you have contact anywhere.
Thank you for the help. I will try definitely try that this weekend. With that, I heard that ball joints go on these trucks. Mine has 90k on it. Could that be a reason for the soulds too? maybe a bad shock? thanks..

My ball joints would Squeak ( on pass. side ) when turning the steering, the ball joint were not greaseable so replaced with MOOG greaseable, has been good since
Mine makes the same noise but I have a 2wd with front springs. I hear noises with the truck rock left to right, I haven't tested it front to back rocking.
I also noticed cracks and bangs from the front end after I got the drivers side ball joints done. Maybe tightening up the ball joints transferred the stress to another area of the front suspension.
My shocks are original as well at 266,000 kms so that is a distinct possibilility for clunking... they are definitely beyond there effective damping and will be changed out in the spring when I get the BDS lift. That will also address the spring bushings, if that is contributing to the problem.
What about tie rods? Will they make any distinctive noise when they are shot?
