disconnecting fuel lines

How do one disconnect the fuel lines to remove the HFCM so it can be removed and replaced as a whole part? I keep reading all I have to do in pinch the the two blue tabs on the line, push forward, slightly turn one way or the other and then pull it off; Im here to tell you, that ain't working and I would like to get this part changed so I can get my truck back on the road.

So does anyone have the right solution to disconnecting and then reconnecting these lines?

I had to do the pinch blue tabs and at the same time use two open ends to pull the connector off the fitting.
