removing fuel lines

I am trying to replace the metal fuel lines from the fuel bowl to the flex lines under the engine. I have those stupid plastic slides but not working. What are some better fuel line disconnect slides?

Interesting those go in deep enough for the fuel line? Picture makes them look shallow.

I have the metal and the plastic ones.I prefer the metal and they do work. Not very expensive and good to have when you need them.

I will have to see if I can find a pair around here. A guy I know has a set of plastic ones that sound longer then mine I might try also. He also mentioned giving the line a twist to help break any corrosion between the fingers and the line which I didn't thing to try. He said I could try his metal ones also.

Yea...It might take a little persuading once you get the tool in there.Make sure to wear safety glasses or goggles in case the fuel flies when it does come apart....Good luck
