Tires

Have a trailer with a 205/75R14 tire and they are now 6 yrs old with almost no miles but don't feel safe anymore due to age. Wanted to replace with a maxxis 215/75R14 but I measured my old tires and they are only 25 3/4 diameter on the trailer. I have 2 and 3/4 between the tires on the front and rear axle now with the old ones. Suppose I should go with the 205 Maxxis, it is listed as 26" and the 215s are listed at 27". Anyone that is using that size ever measure them?

Google "tire size calculator", select the one you like most and have fun. These will tell you eveything you need to know ... and also allow you to compare different tire sizes and see what will change i.e. clearances, heights, rpm (revolutions per ... mile I believe) etc.

The 215s would be an inch close to each other, for me that is too close. I would go with the 205 Maxxis.

+1. I missed the dual axle part first time through. If it were me, I'd stick to the 205 sizing too.

Thanks for reply's, going to play it safe with 205's. Don't fix if it isn't broken.

Got the Maxis put on but have not used yet. Everyone that says the tires should be replaced after 5 years must be right. 2012 Palomino, tires had great tread, mostly short trips about 125 miles once a year. Took them off at home to have changed and found big bulge on a inside sidewall. So glad I didn't put it off another year. Tires had also been covered.
