Alright all i have a few questions on the process..........Dealer gave me a VIN last week and a build date of May1 today..........But i check the web site that has the window sticker and it shows nothing.......when does the window sticker show????? also i got a approx arrival (dealer) of the end of May......i am wondering how long it actually takes to build a truck?????? and how long after its built does it take to get to say Utah!!!!! ha ha all this is in preperation to sell my 2002 F350and try and time it as close as i can.
OK, The window sticker is available 7-8 days prior to a build date, and vise versa, if you get your WS and see the date in the grey section in the bottom your truck is normally built 7-8 days later. The window sticker technically only shows up when the truck goes from "In Order Processing" status to the "In Production status".
My window sticker has a 4/19 date meaning it should be built by 4/26 or 4/27, I know a guy (old Army buddy) who works as KYTP who sent me a pic of my truck this morning as it was put on the assembly line to head into paint later today (he sent me that like 7 hours ago, so mine may have already gone through paint), and said it should be done with everything by Wednesday. So that is inline with the 7-8 days following WS date.
Oh, and Ford has a default of 3 weeks following your build week as the initial ETA, the actual delivery date changes a few times before the truck really gets to the dealership, but "most of the time" it is before that ETA, but could be after.
