Running cooler
installed a smoke switch in my 03 6.0L not to make smoke but to be able to turn the "whistle" off when I'm idling and working around the truck. But I've noticed that during the day when it is 85-90 degrees out, the egt will run about 60 degrees cooler with the turbo off. Is this good, bad, or indifferent for the truck?

No worries. How'd you install the switch? I'd be indifferent, it probably has something to do with the interplay of opening up the VGT vanes with roughly the same amount of air being pumped in the front. If you really don't use it as a smoke switch and only open up the turbo for short periods when you're idling I don't see it causing an issue.
