2011 F350 Rear axle identification

The Ford owners guide on pg 404 gives fluid type and capacity for two rear ends, a Dana M80 and a 10.5 inch. The door tag identifies the rear axle as 3J, which makes it a 3.55 ratio but it fails to specifically I. D. the rear axle as the m80 or the 10.5 inch. Please help me if you can. I want to change the lubricant.

The Dana 80 is on the DRW trucks for sure. I believe all tbe SRW trucks are the 10.5, but not SURE.

All single-rear wheel trucks came with the Sterling 10.5" axle in that year. If your rear axle ratio is a 3.55, you absolutely have a single-rear wheel diesel pickup with the Sterling 10.5 axle.

The easiest way to visually tell the difference is to look at the cover. Fill plug in cover = Dana axle. No fill plug = Sterling axle.
