Speedometer Issue

Hi guys, I have been viewing this thread for years learning about my old 76 F 250 I have now had for over 3 years now. I love my truck, but it has had one nagging problem since I bought it. I can't get the speedometer to work. My speedometer is connected to my np205 transfer case. I have bought a new cable, verified that the cable and speedometer did work with a drill, and I have changed the driven gear out inside my transfer case (the old one was completely wore down). Once I hook everything up to my transfer case though, I get nothing on my speedometer. I can only assume that the end on my cable isn't reaching the driven gear inside my transfer case. It may be something as simple as getting a different cable end, but which one would it be? The gear inside the transfer case is a Ford 7 tooth gear that matched the original one I took out. Any help is definitely appreciated.
