Trim package differences?

Thanks. I picked it up about a month ago and for the most part it has been kept in really good shape. It does have a few minor body issues that need to be taken care of but that is expected for a 7 year old truck that was originally sold in northwestern PA. I got it from a local dealer here in NY (between Rochester and Syracuse) and I am not sure how long it was driven here. It has been dealer serviced and it is very clean under the hood.

After having my Limited with all the bells and whistles on it I couldn't go back. I love the power running boards, Leather Heated and Air conditioned front seats, heated rear seats, large touch screen, nav, sync, power rear window, sunroof..ect
If I had to buy a 2015-up truck it would be a King Ranch or Platinum 5.0 4x4 fx4. If I was to get a newer truck it would be a 2017 Super Duty Lariat or King ranch 6.2.

Russ, even after a month of owning this one I agree with you. My last one was a 2001 XLT super cab.... so this is not a large step up trim package wise, but over the years options that were only available in higher trim levels have found their way to the lower trucks while more advanced options are coming out for the higher trims.

I wouldn't want the touch-screen in the dash either. That's just one more thing to break, or go on the fritz in the extreme cold. Give me real buttons to operate the stereo, Heat & AC, etc... I do kinda wish I had SYNC though, but then that's also just one more thing to complicate it all.
I think the touch-screen came on the '13+ XLT and up models.

I don't care much for the touch screen either. I like to keep it plain and simple. Heck about 6 years ago the Mustang GT I had, I couldn't get a CD to go in the stereo (6 disc). I was just about ready to go to the high school to get a kid to show me how when I saw a button I think it said load so I pushed it and the CD went in.

Mine still has actual buttons for the heater and radio below the screen that you can use instead, if you so choose. I've also never had an issue in cold weather either but my truck has only seen about -25F.
Best part of the larger screen is the backup camera is much easier to see on the large screen.

I went from a '94 S-10 to the '13 F-150, and I can definitely relate. Suffice it to say I've learned to rely a lot more on my side view mirrors more than I ever have before, and I've even used my reflection in things like store front windows to help me see everything around me when backing up/parallel parking. A backup camera would be nice. And that's coming from a guy who always found them to be annoying in the past whenever I was in a vehicle that had one.

I like your way of cheating...lol. I went from a 2001 F150 super cab to the 2010. The biggest difference that I have notice between the two is the taller bed sides, the 2010 has the head rest on the outboard seating positions where the '01 did not. So the headrests do create a bit of a blind spot when backing up and I just need to get use loosing sight of cars that park behind me when looking out the back window. I have always used the side mirrors in conjunction with turning my head to look back. I ended up really learning how to use the mirrors when I started driving fire trucks for my volunteer fire department. In that case, there is no way you are going to look out the back window...lol.

I know what you mean OTL. Years ago, back in 2006 when I bought my previous F-150, I went from a Ranger into an 8' '150. There was a bit of a learning curve there when backing up! Got a few scratches on the back bumper to show for it too. My one complaint about this truck now is that I lose too much visibility behind me. In a parking lot I always look for a pull-through or I'll back it in. Very slowly!
