Talking rebuild time

Im finally starting to tear down my 400 and im looking for advice on parts and what all i should have done. right now i have a performer intake and holly 1850 and a new crane h-260-2 . the rods and crank look good but i need bearings and pistons, i have a set of heads that are polished and ported and milled .030 as far as i know. i picked up an engine that i can cannibalize and it is bored .060 over i think, at least thats what it says on the pistons. im not sure if its a 351m or 400. but some parts are interchangeable. any suggestions and ideas for the build?

You will soon find that there are basically two sources for pistons: Tim Meyer if you want good compression, and anyone else if you are satisfied with 8:1. I recommend Tim's pistons. In fact, I had him do the assembly work on the engine and then dyno it.

i am looking at the KB2347 the 13.3 cc pistons. and with the milled heads im wondering what the cr would be. what brand of bearings to use? which brands and special bearings that will work best for the engine. i just don't want all my work to go up in smoke!

Tim is the foremost 335 Series guy in the world. He builds them all the time, so tell him what you have and ask for his advice on pistons. You'll probably have to leave a message as he gets many, many calls for help and can't answer the phone for every call. But, leave him a message, tell him what you need, and he'll call you back. But buy as much as you can from him as we need him to stay in business. Where else can we get pistons? So I bought bearings, gaskets, cam, etc from him. And, by the way, you should do his mod to the oiling system: Oiling System Mod's - ???Gary's Garagemahal

okay, do you have any ideas of what milling .030 off the heads will change the chamber size?

No, I don't. I bought a burette years ago and measured mine, so you could do that and know exactly what volume you have.

I'd bet that's a re-builder's tag. No idea what the first part means, but the 126077 is probably the odometer reading when it was installed.

how do they know when there are 100000 miles when the odometer has 5 places not 6?

it also has the number stamped into the bottom of the block around the oil pan gasket
