I'm not sure what the answer to your question is.

In the case of a manual 3-spd shift on the column, it's either extremely rare or non-existent that a Bumpside with a manual shift on the column came from the factory with a Saginaw PS gearbox.

Sometime in the not too distant future, my buddy is bringing his '72 F100 Sport Custom back to me for me to install a cargo light, replace the rotted floors and to modify the 3-on-the tree manual shift column, to install power steering using a Saginaw PS gearbox and a C-2 PS pump/brackets/pulleys.

Fordification.com has a brief article on modifying the manual shift column to couple it to a Saginaw box but, it doesn't really go into a lot of intricate details on the particulars of how to go about doing this. Hopefully, when the time comes, this will end on a positive note, since I've never done this before.

It would be nice if there was a manual shift column to be found that was a direct connection to a Saginaw PS gearbox. It would save a lot of effort by not having to modify the column to make this work.

Ultra I was referring to cutting down a MANUAL STEERING AUTO COLUMN to a power steering length. There is info on fordification and I think here about doing it. Just thought somebody may want to do it easier ieven though it is just the center shaft with auto linkage and tube.

Yes, I realize you were referencing the change to an automatic column. I was just making conversation, while on the subject of columns and Saginaw boxes, that it would make things much easier for a manual shift column if they were already available in the trucks for a Saginaw.

I got you. I went back and re-read your post and see I misunderstood where you were going. I think I have a 3 on the tree column in the rafters I am going to pull it down and check it out. I never looked at the internals of it to see how it really compares in that and the overall length. All the fun I'm having with this one I can't wait to build the next one.

Dave,
Do you still have the Bendix pitman arm C7TA-3590-L ? If so, would you like to sell it? Thanks, Chris

I still have it. I think I have two. Let me "triple" check the number at lunch. I will let it go for a reasonable amount plus shipping. You can email me at dt1972lr@juno.com.
