Old split rims

Not even rh5 wheel but this is a real danger of any old wheel. Pics might make you think twice about using old wheels. This is from one of our old, historic engines. They get limited usage but I'll guarantee the last time the tires were changed there wouldn't have been any noticeable issues.

Absolutely! Old wheels trap water between the rim and the flap, and over decades rust does its work. This week I posted the same warning on the 1947 forum, and pictures of a similar wheel failure that happened to me. Looks like there was also a crack in the center disc of your red wheel. Stu
