Let the truck sit several hours then crack the oil plug until either oil or water comes out. As much water as you are loosing, it could be going into the pan too. Might be head gasket or intake gasket if there is water in the oil.

Either way, you want to make sure there is no water in the oil.

This turned out to be air in the system after all.

1. Drained about .5 quart of oil after the truck sat overnight. No evidence of anything but oil in the pan.
2. Burped truck parked up hill.
3. Topped off the cooling system on level ground once engine cooled off.
4. Took the truck for a couple long drives. Radiator level coolant level remained full, and the expansion tank rose and fell as expected.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Did you pressurize the coolant system? If so how much pressure, and how long did it hold?

No, I didn't pressurize outside of just going for a couple long drives. I did test the cap which held its 13 psi rating. The expansion tank rose about .5 - 1" after each drive, but returned to its original cold level when the engine cooled down.
