power steering mounting

Hello all, this is my first post....lurking for a while and gathering information. I have a 1968 2wd Camper Special that i purchased earlier this year. I have a bendix power steering gear and would lke to switch over to the ford gear. I have gathered all the information that i need....except for one piece of information that i have not found on here. Does the ford gear use the same mounting holes in the frame as the bendix or do you have to drill new mounting holes in thr frame? Thanks again for all the help.
Eric

power steering

Also new to forum.
I recently bought a 1972 f250 that already had a power steering conversion. It seems to be a 1978ish steering box. Just wondering if its a 2wd or 4wd box or if they were the same?
Its got 4 mounting holes. Another kit that I bought by mistake ( long story) has a box with 3 mount bolts. Got it from Benchworks in Scottsdale Az. Ive got the entire swap kit and seem to be stuck with it. Just wondering if at least I could use the parts or if I should try to recoup some of the purchase price and just sell the kit?

Oh ya , for what its worth , the kit from Benchwork has all the brackets for the pump, the pump and all mounting hardware as well as all the mounting for the steering box. It just doesn't seem that I would ever need the whole kit .

4X4 and 4X2 are different. As well as F150 and F250 being different.

Ok....thanks again for all the help. I visited a local junk yard today and sourced pretty much everything except the column. Two questions...
1. I read somewhere that the fe drivers side engine perch would have to be changed to clear the ford gear...is that correct?
2. I did not get a steering gear from the junk yard.....as i plan to buy one from a parts supplier....maybe redhead. Does the ford steering gear bolt directly to the frame or is there a mounting bracket or perch that i need to source as well? I will return at some point to get a ford steering gear for a core.
Thanks again for all the help...i don't have a ford steering gear handy for comparisons.

Ok, got the first question taken care of. I went back and picked up the ford steering gear that i was going to need as a core.....is there a way to figure out which drivers side engine perch that i need. From what i have read doing various serches that the bendix gear box (which i currently have installed) will require a new perch or modification of the current. All the trucks that i have looked already have the engine pulled. Any information would be appreciated.....trying to make the switch from the C10 world. Im guessing from 70 to ?.........would have the correct perch. Thanks again to all that have helped out.
