I Have A 1975 F-100 4x4. I Want To Change Over The Ram Assisted Steering To Real Power Steering. Any Suggestions????? I Was Told That Power Steering Gear Box Out Of 77-79 F-150 Or A 77-79 Bronco Would Be A Direct Replacement. This Is Not So.
Power steering gear box off a 1976 - 1979 Ford F150 4x4 will fit nicely or a 1978 - 1979 Ford Bronco, will need to drill holes to bolt on the gear box, and also will need to weld fill the place where on the front mounting holes on gear box to make the gear box sit flush on frame rail.
Does your truck have disk brakes?
Need to find the power steering bracket and pump and power steering hoses, off a truck with the same engine size as your truck engine, This will help to power up the power steering gear box.
Also need to modify or find a power steering shaft from the steering column to the power steering gear box.
"All the hard work will pay off when you get the power steering working."
