power steering options...
hey guys.. i just had a thought to convert my 75 4x4 highboy over to power steering instead of power assist and was curious if any one has done it or knows if it is a easy swap. can you use a 73-79 f150/bronco power steering box on the f250's? i know they bolt to the outside of the frame as opposed to inside the frame but is that the only difference? if so it'd be easier to just box the frame instead of building the bracketry to mount a 3/4 ton box...

Ugh, Kind of a pain in the butt, honestly, I would pay the bucks to have a pro shop do it. A good quality crossover steering set up (power) will cost around a grand, but oh the benefits. We Had Profab Motorsports in Billings, Mt. do my Dad's truck, worth every penny. He might just sell the parts, email me if you want me to check. put 'steering fix' in the subject column so I know it ain't spam. Craig

i've done the swap a couple of times myself and it's not too hard at all... just fab a bracket and the 2wd box bolts right in... i was just wondering if the other 4wd box will bolt in with out fabbing up another bracket....
